Volvo Car USA and Canada reports sales of 16,494 cars in March
April 5, 2024 by VolvoVolvo Car USA and Canada sold 16,494 cars in March, up 47.3 percent over the same period last year. Electrified models—those with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain—accounted for 25.7 percent in March, an increase of 33.9 percent compared with the same period last year. Sales in the US reached 15,315 cars in March, up 49.7 percent over the same period last year. Electrified sales represented 23.8 percent; an increase of 25.4 percent compared with the same period last year. In the US, the XC90 midsize luxury SUV was the top selling model with 4,048 cars sold during March, followed by the XC60 compact luxury SUV (3,901) cars) and XC40 small luxury SUV (3,593 cars). Sales in Canada reached 1,179 cars, up 21.7 percent over the same period last year. Electrified sales represented 50 percent of total sales for the month in Canada, an increase of 131 percent compared with the same period last year and representing a company record. 'We had a strong month and close to the first quarter thanks to the growing demand for our full range of models,' said Michael Cottone, President, Volvo Car USA and Canada.
