1977 Dodge Royal Monaco Navigation
For 1977, Chrysler's full-size C-body Dodge became the Dodge Royal Monaco. The mid-size B-body Dodge was the 1977 Dodge Monaco. The Royal Monaco was available in seven body styles between two trim levels including the base and the Brougham. The base level included a hardtop coupe, sedan, and a station wagon. The Brougham was a formal hardtop, sedan, or a 6- or 9-passenger station wagon. The Royal Monaco was similar in appearance to the 1976 Monaco. One of the new distinguishable features was a new rear bumper corner guard which had been required by Federal standards. The lower portion of the Royal Monaco's grille extended outward, passed the concealed headlamps. The base engine was a 318 cubic-inch V8 unit while the Broughams were equipped with a 360 CID V8. The engines were mated to a TorqueFlite automatic. Standard features included power steering, power brakes, and an inside hood release. Other items included a cigarette lighter, glove box coin holder, wheel lip and door frame moldings, two-speed wipers, hubcaps, fiberglass-belted radial tires, cigarette lighter, and two front ashtrays.
