The fourth Generation of the Buick Regal was produced from 1997 through 2004. The 1997 model was available as a Custom, Limited, and Gran Sport version in just sedan body style; Buick no longer offered the coupe. Power was from an overhead valve V6 rated at 160 horsepower. The Buick Gran Sport made its debut with the company's first supercharged V6, rated at 240 horsepower. Gran Sport models also rode on new 16-inch wheels. New items available on the Custom sedan was a Gold Package which added a Jasper Green Pearl finish and additional trim.
