The Ferrari Museum In Maranello Hosts A Temporary Exhibition Of 'Solar Challenge' Cars Made By Local Students
August 2, 2019 by Ferrari North EuropeMaranello, 1 August 2019 - Today a temporary exhibition of experimental vehicles made by local students for the international 'Solar Challenge' series of competitions opened at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello. On display in the Museum's Convention Room is the Emilia 4, the most recent of the vehicles designed and built by the students of the Alfredo Dino Ferrari Higher Education Institution in Maranello and the ITS Maker consortium, with the cooperation and support of the University of Bologna, Ferrari itself and other companies in Motor Valley. Next October, this solar-powered four-seater will cross Australia in the 'Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2019', competing against the cars of other young teams from around the world. The Museum is also displaying other cars designed and developed in every detail by the students, including the Emilia 3 which won the American edition of the competition last year where the Maranello school was the only European representative. The exhibition is a symbol of the historic link between the Maranello-based manufacturer and the Alfredo Dino Ferrari Higher Education Institution, founded in 1963 by Enzo Ferrari to offer the younger generations highly specialised training in the automotive sector. The exhibition can be visited free of charge at the Convention Centre at the Maranello Museum between 1 and 15 August, from 9.30 am to 7pm.
