LEVC Celebrates The 70Th Anniversary Of The Commonwealth
June 27, 2019 by London Electric Vehicle CompanyLondon, 27th June: This year, the Commonwealth celebrates its 70th Anniversary and London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) is proud to be patron of the official History of Parliament Trust commemorative album titled Commonwealth at 70 – From Westminster to the World. The launch of the publication took place at Westminster Abbey and hosted delegates from around the world including members of UK parliament and representatives from the 53 member states that make up the Commonwealth. As part of this event, LEVC – which currently manufactures the world's only purpose-built electric taxi – features in the Prince Charles section of the album, dedicated to Business and Trade. Earlier in the year, H.R.H Prince Charles, head of the Commonwealth was shown around LEVC's head office and manufacturing facility in Coventry where the TX electric taxi is produced. Carl-Peter Forster, Chairman of LEVC, said: 'His Royal Highness is synonymous with the promotion of more sustainable living and LEVC was delighted to welcome him earlier this year to the UK's first dedicated electric vehicle factory, built following investment from Geely.' LEVC has also recently announced an extension to its model range with the addition of a new electric light commercial vehicle with a launch date of 2020 which will be produced in the same Coventry facilities as the electric taxi. Robert Jobson, Royal correspondent, editor and co-author of the international no.1 best seller: 'Diana: Closely Guarded Secret' arrived at the launch event and departed in LEVC's TX electric taxi, which was also displayed outside the venue for the duration of the event. Richard Freed, CEO of the SJH Group, which published the book, says: 'We're delighted that LEVC is part of this prestigious event marking 70 years of the Commonwealth. Its contribution to sustainable green transport and mobility is showcased in this official History of Parliament Trust commemorative album and will be distributed across the 53-member states for all to see.
