Milton Keynes, 25 April 2019 – Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service has taken receipt of 12 ŠKODA Kodiaqs that will be assigned to on-call fire officers that serve over 500,000 people in the Warwickshire area.
To date, the Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service has taken receipt of 12 Kodiaqs with a further five due to join the fleet this year. The all-terrain capability of the Kodiaq was a vital requirement of the Fire Service in order to get to people in any environment quickly and safely. The load-lugger also offers ample space for both passengers and equipment with up to 2,065/2,005 litres available with the seats down in the five and seven seat models, respectively.
The fleet of Kodiaqs has been specially modified to suit the Fire and Rescue Service's needs and includes covert blue lights, blue light brake enhancements and a fixed load guard in the boot to prevent the shifting of equipment.
Andrew Welton, Fleet Manager at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, said 'Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service covers a largely rural area and our Flexi Duty Officers need more flexibility with an off-road fleet that is practical for both people and equipment. The Kodiaq's performance, combined with ŠKODA's ability to provide cars fully converted, met all of our criteria.'
ŠKODA fleet offers a 'one-stop shop' package for emergency services fleets, which allows vehicles to be purchased directly or financed through Volkswagen Financial Services. ŠKODA can provide vehicles fully converted to suit specific requirements and fleet managers have the peace of mind that the conversion, breakdown recovery, service, maintenance and repair requirements are built into one package.
