Revology Cars debuts exciting new reproduction 1967 Shelby GT500 at Barrett-Jackson
April 17, 2019 by Revology CarsOrlando, FL (April 2019) - With a mighty 600hp on tap, a luxurious leather interior and new, updated specification, Revology Cars' 1967 Shelby GT500 was a star attraction at the recent Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Auction. The Revology GT500 is finished in striking Porsche Carrera White Metallic paint with silver LeMans stripes, paired with a Porsche Agate Grey Nappa leather interior. Revology Cars, the renowned Orlando, Florida-based maker of reproduction original Ford Mustangs, packs its updated GT500 with a Roush-developed Coyote 5.0L supercharged engine, developing 600hp and 475 lb/ft of torque. Among the new features of the Revology GT500 are a McLeod twin-disc clutch, Ford 8.8 inch rear end with 33 spline axles and a Wavetrac torque biasing limited slip differential, double adjustable JRi shocks, AP Racing brakes, Forgeline wheels, and an 800 watt JL Audio entertainment system. Priced at $239,000, the Revology Shelby GT500 is the most expensive, and arguably the most expressive, model in the Revology lineup. 'There is something special about the '67 Shelby GT500,' says Tom Scarpello, Revology founder and CEO. 'I can't go anywhere in this car without people waving, honking, pulling out their cellphone cameras, and generally going bonkers. Don't buy one of these if you don't want to be noticed.' Based on Revology's front engine, rear-wheel drive M58 platform, the Revology Shelby features a weight to power ratio of just 6.07 lbs/hp, an impressive number that edges out many supercars, including the Ferrari 458 Italia, with 6.14 lbs/hp. Yet while it is an extremely capable performer, it is also comfortable, reliable, and easy to drive. 'As with all Revology products, we took a complete systems approach to the development of our GT500,' says Revology Cars chief engineer, Aaron Wright. 'We revised the driveline, cooling, electrical, suspension, brakes, and even the body of the car to handle the increased output. It is a very balanced vehicle.' Revology Cars' introduction of its GT500 coincides with an auspicious milestone for the original Ford Mustang, which celebrates its 55th birthday today, marked by its debut at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
