Mercedes-Benz Cars UK Names Western Automobile Company Retailer Of The Year 2018
February 18, 2019 by Mercedes-BenzMercedes-Benz Cars UK has named Western Automobile Company as Retailer of the Year at the annual Mercedes-Benz Retailer Awards, held in London last Saturday. Western Automobile Company, which has two sites in Edinburgh and one in Coldstream, won thanks to its excellent performance in all areas including new and used car sales, after sales and customer service. Gary Savage, CEO, Mercedes-Benz Cars UK, commented: 'It has been an outstanding year for all of our retailer partners, with Western Automobile Company having an exceptional year. 'They've achieved what they have by delivering the very best Mercedes-Benz customer experience.' This year's smart Retailer of the Year was L&L Automotive. Gary Savage said: 'L&L Automotive have put tremendous effort into the smart brand, and it shows – they have achieved great success.' Other winners on the night were Alex Shaw from Mercedes-Benz of Loughborough, who was named Mercedes-Benz Apprentice of the Year; Sandown (Surrey and Hampshire) - New Car Sales Team of the Year; Inchcape (North West) - Used Car Sales Team of the Year; Lookers (Sussex), which took After Sales Team of the Year; LSH Birmingham - AMG Sales Team of the Year; and Isaac Agnew, which was awarded Customer Experience Team of the Year. The Loyalty Team of the Year award went to Lookers (Kent); the Workshop 2020 Team of the Year award was given to Inchcape (South Midlands); the Digital Marketing Team of the Year went to Hughes; and the Le Roy Muntingh Outstanding Contributor award was won by John McKenzie. In 2018 Mercedes-Benz Cars UK sold over 172,000 cars and achieved over seven per cent market share, placing the brand first among German premium manufacturers.
