The S 560 Cabriolet was named the 'Convertible Car of the Year', while the new A-Class was awarded the Safety award. The A 250 also won the 'Best Family Car for more than £28,000' category, while the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S won the 'Best Performance Car for more than £80,000' category. The A-Class – which is the best-selling model for Mercedes-Benz in the UK –was praised for its ride quality, interior comfort and low running costs, while the S-Class was praised for its generous amount of interior space and cutting-edge technology. Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor, said: 'The A-Class gained the highest overall Euro NCAP safety marks of all the cars tested in 2018, even though these were the toughest test procedures to-date. That Mercedes-Benz managed this with one of its most affordable and family-friendly models makes this all the more impressive.
