January 17, 2019 by AudiAudi Sales Operations Manager moves into top fleet role replacing Tom Brennan Milton Keynes, Thursday January 17, 2019 – James Buxton is promoted to the role of Head of Fleet Sales for Audi UK this month, replacing Tom Brennan who left the business in the final quarter of 2018 to pursue interests outside the Volkswagen Group. Stepping up from the key position of Sales Operations Manager for the brand, James brings the benefit of 15 years of automotive sector experience gained with volume and premium makers in a variety of high level strategic and retail-focused roles. James can already reflect on three productive years with Audi UK which began with his appointment as National Used Car Manager, enabling him to drive significant growth in both used car volumes and network used car profitability. More recently, as Sales Operations Manager, he has been instrumental in rationalising the administration and performance of the various sales channels by forging stronger and more fruitful relationships not only with the Audi franchise network but also with key stakeholders at parent company Audi AG and across the wider Volkswagen Group. Before making his already considerable contribution to the performance of Audi UK James cut his teeth in a wide variety of roles across the spectrum from marketing to sales, notably for the Sytner franchise group and for mainstream and premium manufacturers including Nissan Motor GB and Porsche Cars GB. With the benefit of the extensive commercial knowledge he has accumulated and the many relationships he has nurtured James has hit the ground running in the new role: 'I am relishing the opportunity to continue and build on the great work Tom and his team have already done to exploit the significant potential that exists for Audi in the fleet sector,' he said. 'Supported by that same hugely accomplished team and a raft of highly desirable new models including the recent A1, Q3 and e-tron BEV, I intend to focus on building relationships and leveraging my commercial knowledge and connections to deliver a fleet offer in every channel that is even more compelling for 2019 and beyond.' James will report in to Head of Audi Sales Operations Peter Brookes, who welcomed his appointment: 'With a wealth of experience across the industry, James has demonstrated whilst in Sales Operations an intuitive understanding of the mechanics of the business at every level and he has a real aptitude for effecting positive change and driving growth. He will be a fantastic addition to the leadership team.'
