2022 Nissan LEAF adds additional standard features, new starting price

2022 Nissan Leaf
Eleven years ago, Nissan introduced the all-electric Nissan LEAF, the world's first mass-market electric vehicle that helped pave the way for EV adoption around the globe. With more than 500,000 Nissan LEAF electric vehicles sold worldwide1, LEAF continues to deliver exciting EV performance and cutting-edge technology.2022 Nissan Leaf
For 2022, the company is further demonstrating that commitment to mass-market electric cars, lowering the MSRP2 of the all-electric 2022 LEAF to make it more accessible and provide even more value to customers than ever before.

2022 Nissan Leaf
The 2022 Nissan LEAF has a starting MSRP of $27,400 for the LEAF S. Qualified purchasers may also be eligible for a potential federal tax credit of up to $7,500.3

2022 Nissan LeafProduct updates for the 2022 model year include the addition of the SV PLÚS Technology Package as standard equipment – including ProPILOT Assist4, 8-way power driver's seat, LED headlights, LED signature daytime running lights, portable charge cable (120V/240V EVSE), electric parking brake, Intelligent Around View® Monitor and Intelligent Driver Alertness. Also, the LEAF S grade Charge Package (quick charge port, portable charge cable) is now standard.

Choice of two powertrains
LEAF is equipped with a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery and 110-kW electric motor that delivers 147 horsepower, 236 lb-ft of torque and up to 149 miles5 of range.

Nissan LEAF PLÚS features a larger-capacity 62-kWh lithium-ion battery – increasing the range to up to 226 miles6 and a powerful 160 kW motor that produces 214 horsepower – an increase of 45 percent – and 250 lb-ft of torque.

Every 2021 Nissan LEAF is offered with a limited lithium-ion battery warranty7 covering defects in materials or workmanship for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, for the battery pack. Nissan also provides a limited warranty against battery capacity loss below nine bars of capacity as shown on the vehicle's battery capacity level gauge for the first eight years or 100,000 miles for all models.

Both the LEAF and LEAF PLÚS can be charged8 up to 80 percent in 40-45 minutes using the quick charge port. Also available is a portable charging cable that can be plugged into either a 120-volt outlet or any 240-volt outlet, such as those used for electric clothes driers, eliminating the need to have a level 2 charger installed in your home.

ProPILOT Assist and e-Pedal
Standard on LEAF PLÚS SL and optional on LEAF and LEAF PLÚS SV is ProPILOT Assist4, a hands-on driver assist system that combines Nissan's Intelligent Cruise Control and steering assist technologies and includes a stop and hold function that can bring the vehicle to a full stop, hold in place and can bring the vehicle back up to speed when traffic starts moving again.

Further enhancing the Nissan LEAF driving experience is the standard e-Pedal9, which allows the driver to start, accelerate, decelerate and come to a full stop and hold using only the accelerator pedal.

2022 Nissan LeafThe 2022 LEAF is equipped with a range of standard safety technologies, starting with the six technologies that comprise Nissan Safety Shield® 360. This includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking.

Other technologies includes standard Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Lane Intervention and Blind Spot Intervention. Available features include Intelligent Driver Alertness and Intelligent Around View® Monitor.

Standard 8-inch display and more technology
Every 2022 Nissan LEAF features a full-color 8-inch display. Advanced technologies include standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, available Nissan Door to Door Navigation, and NissanConnect EV and services (telematics), which allows a remote connection to the vehicle to start a charge, monitor the state of a charge and turn on the heat or A/C before ever getting into the vehicle.

The available Door-to-Door Navigation system syncs the vehicle's navigation system with a compatible smartphone for seamless driving and walking directions. The connections feature allows any of the car's passengers to quickly and easily connect to a device within the vehicle.

Sleek modern design
The LEAF exterior offers a sleek, streamlined silhouette, which maximizes aerodynamic efficiency. In front, the bold fascia features Nissan's signature V-Motion grille with blue 3D mesh. The car's streamlined profile gives it a sporty look, while the rear features a distinctive taillight design. Thanks to the aerodynamic body styling, including a rear bumper with a clear-cut curve and aero-design wheels, the LEAF has a 0.28 coefficient of drag.

The angle of the charging port at the front is designed for convenience, letting the customer connect the charging cable without bending down. Ergonomic testing by Nissan shows that the 45-degree angle allows drivers of all heights to easily and comfortably connect the charger.

LEAF is available in eight body colors: Sunset Drift ChromaFlair® (premium color), Brilliant Silver Metallic, Gun Metallic, Super Black, Scarlet Ember Tintcoat (premium color), Pearl White Tricoat (premium color), Glacier White and Deep Blue Pearl. It is also offered in one two-tone exterior paint treatment, Pearl White Tricoat/Super Black (premium color).

Every 2022 LEAF boasts a spacious, highly functional interior with a quality, high-tech feel. The roomy cabin comfortably accommodates five people and includes a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat for added flexibility. The rear cargo area is designed to provide ample luggage space, offering 30 cubic feet of available storage with the second row folded down.

LEAF and LEAF PLÚS also feature standard Rear Door Alert10, a system that can help remind customers of items that may be forgotten in the rear seat.

A range of five well-equipped models
Standard LEAF S grade equipment includes Nissan Safety Shield® 360 technology, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, 8.0-inch information display, automatic on/off headlights, Bluetooth® hands-free phone system, Bluetooth® streaming audio, SiriusXM® Radio (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), automatic temperature control and 60/40 split fold-down rear seat. LEAF S PLÚS models include 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and a quick charge port.

LEAF SV grade – for both LEAF and LEAF PLÚS – adds Nissan Door to Door Navigation, and NissanConnect® EV and services (telematics), Intelligent Cruise Control, hands-free text messaging assistant, fog lights and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

LEAF SL PLÚS adds ProPILOT Assist, heated seats, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather appointed seats, LED headlights and LED signature daytime running lights, 8-way power driver's seat with 2-way lumbar support, cargo cover, Bose® Premium Audio with seven speakers, Intelligent Around View® Monitor and Intelligent Driver Alertness.

There are two available option packages: SV Technology Package and Cargo Cover for SV and SV Plus.
