Groupe PSA Wins UK Awards Treble For Its New Generation Of Compact Vans•Three top awards from two UK B2B outlets: Van Fleet World and Company Car & Van

•Recognition for the core model strategy set out in the Push to Pass plan

•Strengthens Groupe PSA's position as Europe's leading supplier of compact vans

The all-new Peugeot Partner, Citroën Berlingo Van and Vauxhall Combo Cargo have been awarded three top UK awards in the space of a week, including Van of the Year and Small Van of the Year at Van Fleet World's Great British Fleet Awards 2019, and Company Car & Van's Small Van of the Year 2019.

'Groupe PSA has managed to maintain a visual link to the previous Berlingo Van and Partner, while adopting a modern design that owes far more to the new Dispatch and Expert,' said Dan Gilkes, Editor, Van Fleet World.

'But it is under the skin that the biggest changes have been made, not least the decision to provide two distinct wheelbases and body lengths, delivering improved carrying capacities and load volumes. Add in a host of driver assistance and safety systems, including a factory-fitted Overload Indicator and Surround Rear Vision, and you have a range of vans, now including Vauxhall/Opel Combo, that move the game on, not just for PSA, but for the sector as a whole.'

'What we can safely say about the new Combo, Berlingo Van and Partner, is that they've taken the compact van another notch on from the competition.' said Andrew Walker, Editor, Company Car & Van. 'They're well built, well designed, drive well on Euro6 engines and come at a lower price with lower emissions and better fuel economy than most of the competition. There's also storage space galore, a tech-friendly cabin and the build quality puts some cars to shame.'

The Groupe PSA compact vans were also voted joint International Van of the Year 2019 by journalists across 25 European countries, and awarded both Light Van of the Year 2019 and Light Commercial Vehicle of the Year 2019 at the UK's What Van? Awards.

The new models were developed using the EMP2 platform and accommodate the latest generation of powertrains and driver assistance equipment. They offer a range of services for business to business customers, meeting the highest standards on the market in terms of spaciousness and modularity, with a load capacity of 1,000kg. To cover all customer needs, the vans come in two lengths and are available in two-, three- and five- seater versions.

With each generation, Groupe PSA has brought useful and major innovations to the segment, now proposing two technologies that are unique on the market: the overload indicator and surround rear vision.

With this new offering, Groupe PSA intends to consolidate its leading position in the commercial vehicle market.
