Peugeot Engergises Dealers As It Looks To Electrified Future
•PEUGEOT National Dealer Conference celebrates successful 2018 with market share up 0.2%
•100% of the PEUGEOT product range will have an electrified derivative by 2023 with first models to arrive this year
David Peel, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK, confidently addressed a packed audience of over 750 Dealership staff at the 2019 PEUGEOT National Dealer Conference at the NEC in Birmingham, congratulating the network on a successful 2018 and looking forward as the brand embarks on an electric future this year.
Peel told Dealers to 'be prepared' for the energy transition as PEUGEOT commits to electrifying the entire product range over the next five years, giving attendees a first glimpse of PEUGEOT'S electrified vehicles which will debut later this year.
Over the past three years, the PEUGEOT Dealer network has been resized, creating a solid foundation to deliver success for the brand and ensuring the network continues to go from strength to strength.
Popularity for PEUGEOT's SUV range led the way for success in 2018 as PEUGEOT saw its market share grow to 4.35%, up 0.2% on 2017, in a market that was -6.1% down. This success was accompanied by critical acclaim for its models, with the PEUGEOT range winning 19 UK industry awards in 2018.
David Peel commented: 'Last year demonstrated that the foundations laid over the past two years have created a platform where PEUGEOT is now going from strength to strength in the current UK market. The choice of new award winning models linked with strong residual values is proving to be more popular than ever. In addition, the extension of powertrain choices from our award winning and efficient new diesel and petrol engines to the next generation of electrified models this year, will give customers options they have never had before, providing a car for every customer's need.
'The sales figures we have seen from the past year are a testament to the great job our united Dealer network is doing, and we have full confidence in them taking on the changes set to come in 2019 with the enthusiasm and energy to drive the PEUGEOT brand forward even further.'

•2018 was a record year for PEUGEOT SUVs with over 42,000 2008, 3008 and 5008 sold
Looking forward, PEUGEOT is set to embark on a far-reaching LEV (low-emission vehicle) strategy in readiness for a raft of new models. The PEUGEOT e-LEGEND concept car, unveiled in 2018, marked the start of the brand's exciting transition towards electric power and autonomous driving. The key message to their network was that a future of 'boring' LEV's is not, and has never been, part of the PEUGEOT DNA. e-LEGEND simulates a future where PEUGEOT are committed to deliver inspirational driving experiences and to unbore the future #unboringthefuture. PEUGEOT investors will be playing their part, with the installation of new EV charging points at Dealerships across the UK.
