Bonhams|Cars Presents An Unmissable Grid For Its Inaugural Miami Auction At The Formula 1 Crypto.Com Miami Grand Prix

Miami, FL – Bonhams|Cars will host an exclusive auction of collector cars, immediately after F1 Qualifying on the racetrack at the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX 2024 on Saturday May 4 at 8PM EST. The unique event will feature an astonishing array of modern and contemporary supercars known for their remarkable top speeds and designed to capture the attention of motorsport enthusiasts descending upon Miami for the race weekend. A selection of twenty-two cars will be showcased at the Miami International Autodrome throughout the weekend for fans and collectors to admire. The auction will be staged with a live audience of registered bidders and their guests, along with those tuning in online from around the world. The backdrop for the sale is the iconic Miami F1 podium on the southside of the Hard Rock Stadium.

Highlights offered in the sale include:

The 2011 Ferrari SP30 Berlinetta, a bespoke creation by Ferrari's Special Projects Department, will be offered at an estimate of $2,250,000 – 2,750,000. Believed to be the only Special Projects Ferrari offered for public sale, this one-of-a-kind car is presented in Rosso Fuoco over a custom-made grey Alcantara interior and only has 121 miles on the odometer. This distinctive creation is based on the renowned 599 GTO supercar, which is also presented in the auction. Considered one of the most acclaimed models from Ferrari, built with racing in mind, this 2010 version has been awarded the FCA Platinum Award winner at the 2023 Cavallino Classic and is estimated at $800,000 – 1,100,000.

The 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort is a groundbreaking high-tech supercar formerly owned by Formula 1 driver, Eddie Irvine. Estimated at $1,750,000 – 2,000,000, this is just one of only 292 examples built and has been fully refurbished by Porsche Classic Factory Restoration.

A standout offering is the 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe, boasting a storied California and West Coast provenance, estimated at $1,500,000 – 1,750,000. This iconic Mercedes model, elegantly preserved and complete with original belly bans, is eligible for prestigious rallies such as the Colorado Grand, California Mille, and more. Mirroring its legacy, a 2011 model of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe, the successor to the Gullwing, will also be part of the sale, offered without reserve and estimated at $220,000 – 250,000. Both these iconic cars feature a striking silver exterior complemented by a red leather interior.

With speeds to compete with Formula 1 cars, the auction will highlight two special Bugattis, known for their extraordinary performance and exclusivity. The legendary 2019 Bugatti Chiron, capable of reaching top speeds of 261 mph, is estimated to fetch between $3,100,000 – 3,600,000. Complementary to this automotive marvel is the 2021 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, an open-topped rarity, one of only 11 Grand Sports initially delivered new to the US. This extraordinary hypercar is expected to command an estimate between $1,600,000 – 2,000,000.

Also presented in the sale by Bonhams|Cars Automobilia Department is a collection of eight helmets from legendary Formula 1 drivers, including Niki Lauda's 1976 German Grand Prix helmet (estimate: $50,000 – 60,000).
