1904 Cyklon Cyklonette

The earliest vehicles created by the Cyklon Maschinenfabrik GmbH of Berlin were motorcycles, and their Cyklonette would employ a similar configuration. The engine was positioned over the front wheel and drove the front wheel via a chain. The first Cyklon three-wheeler, dubbed the Cyklonette, was introduced in 1902 at the Leipzig Motor Show. It used a 450cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that delivered approximately 3.5 horsepower. It wore distinctive pierced metal coachwork with wickerwork detailing and rode on wire wheels. Steering was via a tiller with ignition, mixture, and throttle controls attached. The gearing is by a simple Crypto gear on low speed and fixed drive on high speed with a twist-action on the tiller to engage gears. Cooling is via a friction-driven fan. The suspension was comprised of carriage-type C-springing at the rear. The vehicle's top speed was approximately 25 mph.

Later Cyklonette vehicles received two-cylinder engines and some had seating for up to four occupants while others had van bodies.

The Cyklon Cyklonette remained in production through 1922.
