SEAT Fleet UK has captured the Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer award at the Fleet World Honours 2018 event.

Taking place at the RAC Club in Central London, the sought-after award was one of just two manufacturer accolades up for grabs.

Recognition of SEAT's outstanding product portfolio and overall fleet offering, the award has arrived after the brand achieved record true fleet sales in 2017.

Maintaining the momentum established in 2017, SEAT has now climbed into the top-10 rankings for true fleet sales, leapfrogging close competitors including Hyundai, Peugeot and Nissan.

Alex Grant, Editor of Fleet World, said: 'SEAT's transformation of late is nothing short of incredible. It's found its identity, launching desirable products in popular sectors and making fleet a core part of the business. This has bolstered its specialist team, strengthened the dealer offer, cut short-cycle volumes and introduced four-day test drives for company car drivers – all accessible via its detailed new fleet-focused web portal. So it's hardly surprising to see record results last year, with no signs of that momentum slowing down.'

The Spanish manufacturer has introduced several new models in the last 18 months, including the award-winning Arona and Ateca SUVs and the New Ibiza hatchback. With market coverage up and new initiatives introduced – including the popular 4-Day Test Drive scheme and updated fleet website – the brand is breaking new ground in the business car sector.

SEAT UK Head of Fleet & Business Sales, Peter McDonald, commented: 'We are grateful to the Fleet World team and judges for recognising what is the result of a lot of very hard work on our part. It takes a huge effort from all areas of the business to engender a culture in which real, tangible improvements are made.

'By offering fleets a more diverse choice of vehicles and providing genuinely helpful initiatives alongside first-rate service levels, we've been able to meet the high expectations of fleet and business drivers.'
