Silverstone Auctions Revs Up For Race Retro 2018

•Silverstone Auctions invites best of breed entries for Race Retro 2018 sales

•A dedicated competition car sale and two-day classic and sports car sale to be held

•Auctions to take place on 23rd – 25th February at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire

Specialist auction house, Silverstone Auctions, is inviting quality consignments for its first sales of the New Year, taking place at Race Retro on 23rd to 25th February 2018 at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.

With a limited number of catalogue spaces available, the auction house is seeking the finest, best of breed cars for both a dedicated competition car sale as well as a two-day classic and sports car sale.

The 2018 sales will follow record results for the auction house at Race Retro 2017, when £5.7million changed hands with 76 per cent of cars on offer selling, the highest ever result at the show for Silverstone Auctions in six years.

Highlights of the 2017 sale included a 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GT which sold for £439,875, nearly £140,000 over its lower estimate, and a 1961 Emeryson Formula 1 Climax FPF (FIA), the last surviving example of just four ever made, which sold for £174,380.

'Race Retro is Europe's premier historic motorsport show and we're delighted to be returning for yet another year with three days of auctions, and no doubt some very special road and race cars for sale,' comments Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions.

The international show saw a record number of 21,000 visitors in 2017 and promises an even bigger and better event in 2018.
