CHRYSLER GROUP 'WOMEN OF COLOR' GAIN MAJOR RECOGNITION AT ANNUAL EVENT

October 27, 2014 , Detroit - Chrysler Group LLC technical business leaders received honors for their career achievements at the 17th Annual Women of Color STEM Conference on October 23-25 in Detroit. The Women of Color Conference is the only multi-cultural celebration held to honor the significant achievements of women in technology, annually recognizing the most innovative professionals in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields for their career accomplishments 'despite the traditional obstacles faced by women in these fields.'

The conference ensures that the achievements and importance of outstanding women in technical fields are highly visible to industry, government and students.

Over the years, Chrysler Group employees consistently have received important technical professional recognition from various diversity organizations, including Black Engineer of the Year, Women of Color, HENAAC Great Minds in STEM and others, reflecting the Company's strong commitment to developing its diverse workforce.

'The Women of Color Awards recognize some of the most promising and influential women business and community leaders in the U.S.,' said Mike Keegan, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Chrysler Group. 'Chrysler Group is proud that our female employees continue to be recognized for their extraordinary technical achievements and leadership.'

'These women join a long list of accomplished female leaders at Chrysler Group, who've received this prestigious recognition and serve as role models highlighting the exciting career opportunities for women in the automotive industry,' Keegan added.

Chrysler Group has a longstanding commitment to recruiting diverse talent and supporting education initiatives for minorities in STEM. For the past three years, Chrysler Group has been named a top supporter of engineering programs at the nation's Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), according to U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine. The Company also sponsored Great Minds in STEM™, an organization that provides scholarships to Hispanic students majoring in a STEM field. In addition, Chrysler Group also supports various organizations that advance women's involvement in STEM professions, including Michigan Council of Women in Technology and Society of Women Engineers.

In 2014, the Company partnered with Florida International University (FIU), to sponsor a STEM education initiative called 'Engineers on Wheels.' Staffed by FIU students and overseen by FIU faculty, – 'Engineers on Wheels' will bring engineering education into South Florida's public schools, giving students the opportunity to become familiar with the high-tech, hands-on education they need to prepare for future success in STEM subjects and careers.

Similarly, over the past 19 years, Chrysler Group has invested nearly $2.1 million to First Robotics teams across the U.S. and Canada. Moreover, the Company sponsored Formula SAE Team sponsorships that allow engineering students to conceive, design, fabricate and race formula-style cars.

In addition, Chrysler Group continues to be an active supporter of organizations such as the National Black MBA Association and National Association of Hispanic MBAs to recruit talented MBA candidates from the nation's leading business schools for the Company's finance and leadership development programs.
