Fan Activities Abound at this Week's American Le Mans Monterey Race

MONTEREY, Calif., May 7, 2013 – When fans arrive at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the American Le Mans Monterey race weekend May 9-11, they will find more activities to enjoy than ever before. While the world-class racing of the American Le Mans Series, presented by Patron, is always the highlight, the number of family-friendly fan activities will provide added value for their full enjoyment.

From autograph sessions and cancan dancers roaming the paddock to activities in the Yamaha Marketplace and the exciting fan grid walk just prior to the start of the race, there are so many things to experience, among which are:

Wednesday, May 8

Event: Twilight Cycling presented by Rabobank

Location: Track

Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Details: Cyclists can experience the 11-turn, 2.238-mile course normally reserved for racing. Rides are open to all levels of cyclists. Helmets are required and the cost is $10 per rider.

Thursday, May 9

Event: All Chamber Mixer

Location: Red Bull Energy Center

Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Details: All chambers of the Monterey County are invited to a night of racing, networking, food and fun, while watching the testing of the American Le Mans Monterey.

Details: This is your chance to meet and receive autographs from all MX-5 Cup Drivers.

Time: 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Details: This is an opportunity where you get to discuss racing and communicate about the American Le Mans.

Event: ALMS Tech Talk Autograph Session

Details: This is your chance to meet and receive autographs from all the drivers of the Tech Talks.

Event: Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Autograph Session

Location: Mazda Tent – Paddock near Center Gate

Time: 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Details: This is your chance to meet and receive autographs from all the drivers of Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Team.

Event: Autograph Session for ALL American Le Mans Series Drivers/Teams

Location: American Le Mans Series Paddock

Time: 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Details: This is your chance to meet and receive autographs from all the Drivers and Teams in the American Le Mans Series.

Event: LIVE Auction at Dyson Racing benefiting the Austin Hatcher Foundation

Time: 1:10 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Details: Score one-of-a-kind Dyson Racing memorabilia.

Event: Pre-Race Entertainment: Cancan Girls

Location: Starting Grid - Paddock

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Details: The Cabaret Versatile will be walking through-out the Paddock and Yamaha Marketplace greeting and taking pictures with fans. From there they will be our pre-race entertainment at the starting grid.

Event: Fan Grid Walk

Location: Starting Grid

Time: 2:15 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Details: This is a rare opportunity not to be missed. Fans are encouraged to walk the starting grid with all the American Le Mans Series drivers and teams' just minutes before the green flag flies for the start of the American Le Mans Series race.

Tickets to the American Le Mans Monterey can still be purchased at the gates for just $90 for a three-day general admission pass and Saturday only tickets are $70. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.
