YOU'RE HIRED – HARD WORK PAYS OFF FOR MITSUBISHI APPRENTICES

August 3, 2016 by Mitsubishi Motors in the UK

Seven apprentice vehicle technicians have graduated from Mitsubishi Motors' advanced apprentice scheme and will now be working in dealerships all over the UK.

The new technicians have come to the end of Mitsubishi's Advanced Apprenticeship Programme of tuition and assessment, carried out at the Gloucestershire headquarters of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK and in their own dealerships.

The graduates are: Dan Dobson, 28, from Fownhope Mitsubishi in Hereford; Craig Simpson and Calum Swanson, both 22 and from Seafield Mitsubishi in Inverness; Tom Anderson, 19, from Duxford Motor Group in Cambridge; Karl Wynn, 24, from Brindley Mitsubishi in Cannock; Jordan Aitken, 19, from Livery Dole in Exeter, and Luke Howard, 23, from Humphris of Oxford.

Glyn Lewis, apprentice programme controller for Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: 'It's fantastic to see this group finally achieve their goal in becoming qualified vehicle technicians, having attained vital technical and professional skills along the way, which is essential for working in a professional main dealer.

'Their goal seemed a long way off when they entered on to the programme three years ago and began the process of completing over 70 assessments, exams, assignments and practical tasks. They are naturally delighted to get to the end of their apprenticeship and bursting with a huge sense of achievement at reaching professional status.

'The successful technicians will now go on to work for their dealerships, equipped with essential knowledge and experience to support the Mitsubishi network and its increasingly technical demands.'

The qualification that the seven now hold is a Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles from the Institute of the Motor Industry, the professional association for people working in the motor trade.

The next group of apprentice technicians will begin their training in September. To find out more about the apprenticeship scheme, go to http://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/careers/apprentice.aspx
