7TH ROUND OF THE FORMULA E IN PARIS: COMMANDING VICTORY FOR LUCAS DI GRASSI• Impressive performance by the Abt Schaeffler team with Volkswagen as a strategic partner

Wolfsburg/Paris, 27 April 2016 –Lucas di Grassi adds to his latest success in Long Beach (USA) by winning the recent Formula E race in Paris. The driver of the Abt Schaeffler team, with its strategic partner Volkswagen, starts the next round of the electric-powered racing series on 21 May in Berlin as championship leader.

Di Grassi laid the foundations for his fourth Formula E victory right from the start of the race around Les Invalides in central Paris. The Brazilian outbraked the pole-position holder Sam Bird at the first corner and quickly took the lead. After a perfect pit stop, even a safety car phase could not thwart di Grassi. In the short history of Formula E, di Grassi is the first driver to have won two races in succession.

The next round of Formula E will be held in the centre of Berlin on 21 May. Lucas Di Grassi will start the race as front runner eleven points ahead of his nearest rival. The only German team lies in second place in the team classification.
