DR. MICHAEL STEINER BECOMES GROUP COMPLIANCE COMMISSIONER

Herndon, Va., November 18, 2015 – Dr. Michael Steiner (51), until now Head of Total Vehicle Development/Quality at Porsche, has been appointed Compliance Commissioner at the Volkswagen Group effective as of November 16, 2015. In this function Steiner reports directly to the CEO of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, Matthias Müller.

Steiner, who holds a Ph.D. in engineering, moved from Daimler, where he held various management posts, to join Porsche as Head of Innovation and Concepts in 2002. In 2005, he took charge of the Panamera series and played a key role in the success of this model. He was appointed Head of Total Vehicle Development/Quality at Porsche in 2011.

Steiner's tasks as Compliance Commissioner of the Volkswagen Group will include conducting talks with all regulatory and compliance authorities globally on all vehicle regulatory matters on behalf of the Volkswagen Group.
