The Nash Metropolitan was built in England by Austin to Nash Specifications. They were introduced to the US and Canada in March of 1954. The Metropolitan was offered in two body styles, the 2 door hardtop and convertible. Both models had the same 85-inch wheelbase.

Auction entries : 1The 1956 model year saw major changes, including styling improvements, two-tone paint options, and an increase in horsepower by 24 percent. The 1500 series replaced the original 1200 series. The final year for the Nash nameplate was 1957 as American Motors made the decision to drop the Nash and Hudson names and concentrate on the Rambler. The Metropolitan was later sold using the Austin nameplate. The Metropolitan was discontinued in 1962.
