The Ferrari 365 GTC/4 was introduced in 1971 at the Geneva Motor Show and wore styling by Pininfarina with its shape fine-tuned in the then-new wind tunnel. Sharing a tube-frame chassis with the 365 GTB/4, it combined a short wheelbase with sloping 2+2 coachwork. The low-sloping bonnet concealed the 4.4-liter Colombo-derived V12 engine similar to that in the Daytona with lower-compression heads and tuned to deliver 320 horsepower in US market specification.
The muscular and sporty persona of the 365 GTC/4 was tamed by several creature comforts, including the ZF power steering, servo-assisted brakes, air conditioning, and rear seats with folding seatbacks.
The Ferrari 365 GTC/4 production lasted from 1971 to 1972, with 500 examples built, nearly one-third the quantity of the Daytona.
Chassis Num: 15507
The factory completed this U.S.-specification 1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 in May 1972 and wore a Rosso Nearco exterior - one of 32 examples finished in this color.
This Ferrari was delivered new through Ferrari importer William 'Bill' Harrah's Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada, and subsequently sold to dealer Le Mans Motors in Denver, Colorado, in August 1972. A short time later, it was purchased by its first private owner in Englewood, Colorado.
The Ferrari was advertised in Ferrari Market Letter in 1988, described as having 66,000 miles, and purchased by Robert N. Blair of Saratoga, California. Around four years later, it was listed for sale in Ferrari Market Letter, now described as having received a complete engine rebuild, having a new dashboard, riding on Borrani wheels, and being a class winner at the 1991 Ferrari Club of America's International Concours d'Elegance held in Monterey, California.
Unsold for several years, the car's next owner purchased it in 1998 and retained it for nearly twenty-five years. During that time, the car received a complete mechanical rebuild by a factory-authorized dealer. The current owner purchased it in 2022.
