Dacia Announced As Principal Partner Of The Great Britain Rugby League Lions
July 23, 2019 by Dacia•Dacia will be the principal partner of Great Britain Rugby League Lions •Dacia will take pride of place on the front of the new Lions' shirt •The Lions will be reunited for the first time in 12 years this summer when they embark on a tour of the Southern Hemisphere •Dacia has been a partner of Rugby League since 2016 as well as all the England national teams since 2018 Dacia has announced it will be the principal partner of the Great British Rugby League Lions team and will take pride of place on the front of the new Lions' shirt, launched by Hummel on Tuesday 23rd July. The announcement expands on Dacia's continued commitment to Rugby League and the England national teams, with the Lions joining the Rugby Football League and the England Men's, Women's, Knights, Academy, Youth and Wheelchair teams as proud partners of Dacia. Dacia has been involved with Rugby League since 2016 as the official car partner of the Rugby Football League and title sponsors of the Dacia Magic Weekend. Disbanded in 2007, the Lions will be reunited for the first time in 12 years this summer when they embark on a tour of the Southern Hemisphere. The series will see the Lions fly to New Zealand for tests against Tonga and the New Zealand Kiwis, before travelling to Papa New Guinea to take on the PNG Kumuls. Ralph Rimmer, Rugby Football League Chief Executive, said: 'Dacia has been a consistent champion of Rugby League across all levels of the sport, from the grassroots to the highest level and including every one of the England national teams. In addition to being the first Lions game in 12 years, the tour also marks the first ever Test between Great Britain and the Mate Ma'a of Tonga, as well as the first time a British team have travelled to Papa New Guinea since 1996. The Great Britain Lions schedule includes: •October 26th: Tonga (Hamilton, NZ) •November 2nd: New Zealand (Auckland, NZ) •November 9th: New Zealand (Christchurch, NZ) •November 16th: Papua New Guinea (Port Moresby, PNG)
