Nissan Mexicana Announces Senior Leadership Changes
June 27, 2019 by NissanMEXICO CITY – Nissan Mexicana is announcing changes within its senior management team as the company celebrates an unprecedented 10 consecutive years of sales leadership in the Mexican market. Effective July 1, José Roman, corporate vice president, Global Datsun Business Unit, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML), is appointed president and managing director, Nissan Mexicana. He replaces Mayra González, who is moving to Japan to take the role of division general manager, Global Sales, NML. 'Nissan is fortunate to have an established global leader like José Roman returning to Mexico to maintain our top position and grow our brand in this critical market,' said José Luis Valls, president and chairman, Nissan North America. 'We thank Mayra for her three years leading the team in Mexico, and we look forward to her contribution in her new role with the global sales organization.' Roman has 20 years of automotive industry experience. He joined Nissan in 2012, as regional vice president of sales for Nissan Mexicana. After serving in leadership roles of increasing responsibility for Nissan in Latin America, Roman was named the top global executive for the company's Datsun brand in 2017.
