Rolex Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Pre-Reunion
Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week, and is the only event where cars are doing what they were originally intended to do…race. Approximately 550 race cars are invited to compete in the world's premier motoring event, and are accepted based on the car's authenticity, race provenance and period correctness.
BMW, which will be celebrating its 100th anniversary, will be honored as the featured marque. BMW USA Classic will run seven historic race cars at the 2016 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion on August 18-21 in Monterey, California. BMW is the featured marquee at the Rolex Reunion and the brand will be represented by 64 vintage BMW race cars ranging from a strong group of 1930's 328s to the all concurring BMW V12 LMR of 1999. The Rolex Reunion promises to be the largest gathering of BMW M1 ProCars ever assembled in the USA. Finally, all five factory IMSA specification 3.0 CSLs will be back together for the first time since they raced in1975 and 1976.
Among the 64 BMWs racing in the Rolex Reunion will be seven cars from the BMWUSA Classic collection. Drivers will include BMW of North America Chairman Ludwig Willisch and several past and current BMW Motorsport drivers.
Earlier this year Mazda celebrated the 25th anniversary of its 1991 Le Mans win in the iconic green and orange Mazda 787B. While the 787B is the crown jewel of Mazda's global vintage racecar collection, there were others that paved the way. One such car was the Mazda 767B which competed at Le Mans in 1989.
Now, 27 years later, after a two-year restoration, it is part of Mazda North American Operations (MNAO)'s collection, and will return to the track at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion August 19-21, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The event relives motorsport history at the iconic circuit, which has been the scene of America's golden years of sports car racing since its inception in 1957. In addition to the entertaining on-track action, there are always engaging autograph opportunities with legendary drivers, Q&A sessions, and fine wine and cheese tastings among the myriad activities.
Prior to the Motorsports Reunion was the Monterey Pre-Reunion , which provided motorsport enthusiasts with the chance to see more than 300 race cars competing prior to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
